The Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University believes that academic excellence must go hand in hand with leadership and organizational competence. To realize this objective, the Undergraduate Program (Bachelor’s Degree Program) is supported by a dynamic student organizational ecosystem, which is broadly divided into two principal student institutions: the Student Senate (SM) and the Student Executive Board (BEM).
- Student Senate (SM) of the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University
The Student Senate serves as the highest legislative body for undergraduate students at the faculty level. In line with the principles of progressive law, the Student Senate performs several primary functions, including:
- Legislative Function: Formulating and enacting organizational regulations for undergraduate students.
- Supervisory Function: Overseeing the implementation of programs conducted by the executive body (BEM).
- Representative Function: Serving as a communication bridge to channel the aspirations, critiques, and suggestions of undergraduate students to the faculty administration.
- Budgeting Function: Coordinating and verifying the allocation of student activity funds to ensure that they are properly directed in accordance with the faculty’s strategic plan.

- Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University
The Student Executive Board (BEM) is the executive institution responsible for driving undergraduate student activities. BEM plays a significant role in:
- Program Implementation: Organizing activities that support the development of students’ interests, talents, and legal reasoning capacities.
- Student Empowerment: Creating collaborative spaces to strengthen soft skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and social awareness.
- Advocacy and Community Engagement: Coordinating concrete student initiatives in responding to national and international legal issues, while also implementing community service programs aligned with the spirit of “Undip Bermanfaat” (Undip for the Benefit of Society).
Through the presence of the Student Senate and BEM, the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University ensures that every undergraduate student is provided with a strong platform to develop into a critical, organizationally capable, and dignified legal intellectual.

In addition to formal student governance institutions, the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University also supports the holistic development of undergraduate students through a diverse range of Student Activity Units (Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa/UKM). These organizations serve as important platforms for students to cultivate academic interests, leadership capacity, creativity, social engagement, athletic achievement, and spiritual development beyond the classroom environment.
